Explanation:

According to the laws of refraction:-

(i) The incident ray, the refracted ray, and the normal to the point of incidence, all lie in the same plane. (ii) The ratio of the sine of the angle of the incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is constant for a given pair of media.

Answer:

Diagram:

1.If a ray of light travelling in a rarer medium passes through a denser medium bends towards the normal. In the case of the prism the incident ray bends towards the normal Q

2. If a ray of light travels from a denser to rarer medium bends away from the normal. In the case of the prism the emergent ray bends at Normal R.

In case of a prism the there are 3 rays the incident ray, emergent ray and the refracted ray .  The incident ray and the emergent ray are in the same direction but laterally displaced.
