There are three kinds of Conjunctions,and they are:-

  1. Co-ordinating conjunction
  2. Subordinating conjunction
  3. Co-relative conjunction

1)Co-ordinating conjunction: These types of conjunctions do the work to join any two independent statements.

Co-ordinating conjunction are further divided into four types:-

  • Illative Conjunction
  • Adversative Conjunction
  • Alternative Conjunction
  • Cumulative Conjunction

Examples:-

  • He cheated in exams, therefore,got punishment.
  • Either play here or leave.

2)Subordinating conjunction: These conjunctions join subordinate or dependent clause to make principal clause.

Examples:-

  • The children are shouting because the teacher is not in class.
  • They will leave when my parents would come.

3)Co-relative conjunction: These types of conjunctions are used for making pairs.

Examples:-

  • As you sow,so you reap.
  • As soon as possible ,please come.
