1. Smooth ER = it is a tube like structure and does not have ribosome attached to its surface

2. Rough ER = it is a tube like structure with ribosome attached to its surface

1) SER( smooth endoplasmic reticulum) in this reticulum ribosomes are absent.
2)RER(rough endoplasmic reticulum)in this reticulum ribosomes are occurs over the surface..
