The types of industries are :

1. Large scale industries are capital- intensive . They utilise heavy machinery, consume a lot of power and employ numerous skilled labourers .

2. Small scale industries require less capital, labour and raw material. Food products, textiles, consumer goods, ceramics and wood products are produce by small scale industries .

3. Cottage industries are usually set up in the house of the owner, with a few family members as workers and locally available raw materials .
