Types of movement:-

The cells of the human body exhibit three main types of movements , namely Amoeboid , Ciliary and Muscular.

  • Some specialized cells in our body such as the macrophages and leukocytes in blood exhibit amoeboid movement.

  • It is effected by Pseudopodi formed by the streaming of proyiplsam in certain cells.

  • Cyto- skeleton elects such as microfilaments are also involved in Amoeboid movement.

  • Ciliary movement occurs in kost o our internal tubular organs such as the respiratory passages , genital ducts and ventricles of the brain which are lined by ciliated epithelium.

  • Movement of our limbs , jaws , lounge etc.Requires Muscular movement. The contractile property of muscles is effectively used for locomotion and other movements by human beings and majority of multicellular organisms.

  • Locomotion requires a perfect coordination activity of muscular skeletal and neural systems.
