☛ Phyllotaxy is of three types :-

  • Alternate or spiral :- a single leaf arise each node in an alternate manner, e.g. Hibiscus rosa sinensis.
  • Opposite :- two leaves are borne from the node in opposite directions. e.g. Quisqualis,Calotropis.
  • Whorled or Verticillate :- more than two leaves are borne on a node, which form a whorl.
