It defines as the production of hormones inside the body of the body of the plant naturally to maintain its length or size is known as plant growth regulators.

Types of plant growth regulators-

• Auxin

This hormone promotes the phototropism means the growth of plant towards the sunlight. This hormone is present at the tip of stem of the plant.

This phenomenon is firstly discovered by Charles Darwin.

Example- Promotes flowering and plant propogation.

• Gibberellins

This hormone promotes that the sudden increase in axis length and delay in fruitning.

Example- By using this hormone or spraying on sugarcane results in increase in length of stem.

• Cytokinins

This hormone exist in root apices and developing shoot buds.and where the rapic cells division takes place in the plant for their development.

Example- This hormone promotes formation of buds and adventitious shoots for their better growth.
