There are main four types of chemical reactions which are as follow:

1.Combination Reaction

When two atoms react to form a compound, it is know as combination reaction.

eg. 2H2 + O2---> 2H2O

2. Decomposition Reaction

When a compound breaks into simple molecular substances from which it is made up of, it is know as decomposition reaction.

eg. 2H2O ---> 2H2 + O2

3. Displacement Reaction

When a highly reactive metal displaces a low reactive metal it is said to be displacement reaction.

eg. Ca + HCO3 ---> Ca2CO3 + H2

4. Double Displacement Reaction

When two compounds react to form two new compound it said to be double displacement.

eg. CaCO3 + NaOH ---> Ca(OH)2 + Na2CO3

Answer:

There are Main three types of chemical reactions with reference to Oxygen and hydrogen:

  1. Combination reaction - when two or more reactants combine in a reaction to form a single product it is called a combination reaction. Ex : 2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O
  2. Decomposition reaction - the chemical reaction in which two or more products are formed from a single reactant it is called decomposition reaction. Ex - 2H2O --> 2H2 + O2
  3. Oxidation reaction and reduction reaction - Oxidation = the chemical reaction in which reactant combines with oxygen loses hydrogen to form the product is called oxidation reaction. Ex : 2Mg + O2 ---> 2MgO. Reduction = the chemical reaction in which reactants gain hydrogen or loses oxygen to form the product is called reduction reaction. Ex : CuO + H2 --> Cu + H2O
