there are three types of plate movements, converging diverging and in the third event the plates slip past one another.
converging: plates come towards each other and form a convergent boundary causing the formation of mountains and volcanoes.
diverging: plates move away from each other and form divergent boundary. new crust is created and oceans fill the space between the diverged crust or plate
And when the two plates slip past one another small earthquake tremors are
