Unification of Britain.
- There was no British nation before the 18th century in Scotland.
- The English parliament ceased the power from Monarchy in 1688.
- And that's how England became a nation state.
- Now, the Act of Union was signed between England & Scotland in 1707.
- The place was renamed as United Kingdom of Great Britain.
- After the renaming of the nation, England took over Scotland.
- Together they thought of occupying Ireland. At that time, Ireland was classified into two groups, namely, Catholics and Protestants.
- After occupying Ireland, now the United Kingdom of Great Britain consisted of England, Scotland & Ireland.
- This is how Britain was Unified.
Major changes that took place after the unification were :
- A new British flag was made.
- A National Anthem was composed.
- English was made as their national language.
