Hy...for this answer firstly u must know what is distributional maps...Distributional maps are one of the easy way to visualize how a measurement varies across the areas...
there are 3 type of Distributional maps...
1.Dot density...or dot maps..
2. choropleth maps...
3.proportional circle...
#explanation and uses..
1 Dot maps.... they are count on the use of dots to represent the value of the particular area....
USES
: they were also known as the dot density...
:we can see where the population is higher or less..
: this maps shows the distribution of population of particular area..
: one dot is equal to 1000 people...
2.. CHOROPLETH MAPS.. In some maps distribution use many shades of 1 colour or range of colour to show the intensity of the variant... Example : HDI scale
USES:
it can represent more than 1 variant..
Appropriate for indicating the difference..like land use and many more...
3 PROPORTIONAL CIRCLE... some maps can also be represent on circle..
USES :
this maps are gud maps to use when you have many variables representing different information..
They show the data occuring at the point
It is gud way for representation of number.. sometimes more than 1 can also shown by the help of pie chart as circle...
