Answer:

Using seat belts should be the first thing to do when you get inside a car and start your engine or better even plug in the key and touch anything. Seat belts are the most important safety feature in the car when it comes to occupant protection. Nothing else will save your life in case of an accident more than a seat belt. That is essentially why it is connected to the airbags which deploy in case of an accident only when the seat belts have been wore properly by the occupant. Hence having airbags in your cars comes later or doesn't even come into the picture if you aren't wearing your seat belts. They save your life. Also during panic and sudden braking they stop your thoracic area from striking the hard uncushioned steering wheel thus protecting you from severe injuries.Today seatbelts also come with their own airbags.Every motorsport event that involves a car has mandatory use of seatbelts by the driver.

hope this will help! thanks !
