Both china rose and phenolphthalein act as indicators i.e they change their colour when put in acids and bases .
phenolphthalein: In neutral or acidic solution ,it is colourless while in the basic solution, its colour changes to pink.
China rose:Acids turn china rose in magenta red and reddish while bases turn it to yellow or greenish yellow.
