The various factors responsible for the loss of food grains that are stored are as followed :
1. Abiotic factors : the non-living factors such as humidity , moisture and other climatic factors causes the development of the bacteria and hence damage the food grains.
2. Biotic factors :
The living factors, such as moths, and other insects are responsible for damage of grains and made them hollow.
