• In-situ conservation has various benefits. Following are the significant benefits of in-situ conservation:

• It is a cost-effective and helpful method of maintaining biodiversity.
• A huge number of living organisms can be maintained simultaneously.
• Specific insured regions where in-situ conservation carries location comprise national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and biosphere reserves.

• National Parks: These are minor reserves protected by the government. Its barriers are nicely demarcated and human actions such as grazing, forestry, territory and cultivation are forbidden for eg., Kanha National Park, Bandipur National Park.

• Wildlife Sanctuaries: These are the areas where just wild animals are established. Human actions such as timber harvesting, cultivation of woods and other forest commodities are authorized here as long as they do not differ from the conservation program.

• Biosphere Reserves: Biosphere reserves are multi-purpose conserved areas where the wildlife, conventional lifestyle of the occupants and domesticated plants and animals are conserved. Tourist and research actions are authorized here.
