Sources of Recruitment are divided into two groups: The Internal and External sources
- Internal Sources
1. Transfer: The transfer process includes shifting of the job of an existing employee from one department of the organization to a different department.
2. Promotion: The process of assigning an existing employee with a job with a higher status than his/her previous job is referred to as promotion.
3. Retired Employees: In some cases, the retirement of an employee might be postponed and he/she would be able to be part of the organization for an extended period as a part/full time employee.
- External Sources
1. Advertising: Promoting the job vacancy of the organization on mediums such as news paper can spread the information to a large number of audience. The advertisement includes job specification, position and salary.
2. Educational Institutes: Campus placements is the most famous way of recruitment. Organizations have a tie-up with educational institutes and they are bound to recruit an agreed percentage of students every year.
3. Employment portals: With the advancement of technology, the hiring process has evolved. There are various job portals available on the internet where one may discover information regarding job vacancies.
