Explain the various stages of Italian unification.

The unification of Italy is divided into four stages...

First Stage : In the first phase, many organizations were formed for the unification of Italy and many types of agreements and treaties were made with different countries.

Second Stage : In this phase the people of the central states revolted for the unification of Italy. All these states wanted to join Italy, while Austria wanted the old rule to be established in these states under the Treaty of Zurich. England's sympathy was with Italy, so on the question of plebiscite in the states of Central Italy, Italy took Italy's side in England and a plebiscite was held in the central states. Thus ended the second phase of Italian unification.

Third Stage : The rulers of Naples and Sicily were incompetent. Mazzini, Francis Christi and Garibald planned rebellions in these states, and Garibald invaded Sicily and declared himself its ruler. Later, Garibald accepted Victor Emmanuel as the ruler of Italy. In this way, with the annexation of the southern kingdom to Italy, the third phase of Italian unification was completed.

Fourth and final stage : Italy was given Venetia under the Treaty of Prague. When the French army withdrew from Italy, Italy took control of Rome and Rome was made the capital of United Italy.

In this way, Italy became fully integrated.
