Basically, the different types of banks are:

1) Central bank: There is this one bank in every country, which regulates other banks of the country and guides them.

2) Commercial banks: These are the general banks prevailing in a country and provide all the basic facilities to the citizens.

3) Exchange banks: These banks finance the foreign trade of a country and deal with foreign exchange only.

4) Agricultural or Co-operative banks: These banks work on the basis of providing financial help to the farmers. These provide loans and every type of help to the farmers.
