Different types of network-

1.PAN(personal area network)-an indivisual can setup this connection for his/her personal work. Example-Internet connection to P.C ,Laptop or hand held devices.

2.LAN-(local area network)-The network within a campus or a few kilometers is called LAN. The transmission speed is very slow(from 10 MBPS to 100 MBPS) and it is very cheap.

3.MAN(metropolitian area network)-This network covers a metrocity/city.The transmission speed is faster than LAN and it is expensive.

4.WAN(wide area network)-WAN covers a large geographical area or a country or a continent.It is expensive and the transmission speed is very fast.
