At the time of aryans the people were divided into four varna ( caste ) : Brahaman, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Sudras
BRAHAMANA
They were the priest at the temples
KSHATRIYAS
They were the warriors.
VAISHYAS
They were the merchant or shopkeepers.
SUDRAS
They were the people who do the cheap works like slave, etc.
