Karl Marx saw capitalism as a progressive historical stage that would eventually stagnate due to internal contradictions and be followed by socialism. ... They believe that private ownership of the means of production enriches capitalists (owners of capital) at the expense of workers.

i) Marx was of the opinion that an industrial society was a 'capitalist' society .

ii) Capitalists were profits because of workers.

iii) To increase his profits the capitalist uses two methods - i.e., the either by reducing wages or increasing the working hours.

iv) Marx believed that to free themselves from the Capitalists , workers had to construct a radically socialist society where all the properties were socially controlled .
