The whole process in which water evaporates and falls on the land as rain and later on flows back into the sea via rivers is known as water cycle.

  • Water is known as universal solvent because it is capable of dissolving a large no. of substance.
  • Water evaporates from seas, oceans, lake etc. and form clouds and after condensation it fall down as rain.
  • After rain it passes through rivers and get collected again in the ocean.
  • This is the circulation which is performed through living beings like absorption and Transpiration of water by plants and drinking by animals.
