Glucose(6 carbon molecule) first enters cytoplasm and breaks down into Pyruvate(3 carbon molecule) and releases energy. In lack of oxygen it converts into Lactic acid(3 carbo molecule) and releases 2ATP energy. This process takes place in our muscle cells.

Answer:
Explanation:
in absence of oxygen that means during anaerobic respiration glucose is broken down through two processes that is glycolysis and fermentation
in glycolysis glucose molecule is broken down into pyruvic acid
in fermentation pyruvic acid is converted into organic acids and alcohol
due to this lactic acid accumalates due to which we feel tired
it is said 2 ATP energy molecules are released which is comparitevely low
