CRT monitors are pretty hard to find these days.
A CRT uses an electron beam to excite a phosphor layer on the inside of a large vacuum tube.
Phone displays are thin layers, that either emit light when electricity is applied to a pixel, or switch pixels on to let light come through from behind. They’re pretty close to today’s monitors and TVs, and have little in common with the old tube technology.
