Explain the ways in which glucose is broken down in absence or shortage of oxygen.

\bold{\tt\purple{ANSWER: }}

Breaking down of glucose in absence of oxygen is called anaerobic respiration.

It is carried by muscles, bacteria , yeast and other microorganisms.

In the absence of oxygen or lack or lack of oxygen the break down of glucose takes place in 2 ways :-

1. In muscles :- When we do vigorous exercise the muscles starts producing lactic acid and carbon dioxide as the products because of lack of oxygen.

2. In Microorganisms :- The microorganism which perform respiration in absence of oxygen or lack of oxygen produces Alcohol as there product.

Yeast is used for fermenting to produce alcohol. Yeast perform anaerobic respiration.
