The process takes place in the yeast during fermentation . Since this process takes place in d absence of O2 ,it is called anaerobic respiration ,and it gives ethanol + co2 +energy (2 carbon molecules )

It is Anerobic respiration in which glucose is breakdown in the absence of oxygen to release phyrabic acid( 2 molecules) is the first step in anorabic respiration.
