The human alimentary canal starts from mouth and ends at anus.

Mouth contain oral cavity. And oral cavity contains teeth. Teeth help in chewing of food and in many other works like grinding and tearing.

Tongue is also present in oral cavity which help in mixing of saliva in food and also helps to push the food in oesophagus. Trachea and oesophagus opens into pharynx.

When food pass through oesophagus then contraction and relaxation occur this movement is known as peristaltic movement of food. Oesophagus leads to a j shaped bag like structure called stomach. Stomach consists of cardiac, pyloric and fundus regions.

Pyloric region opens into first part of small intestine called duodenum.
Small intestine consists of duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. Ileum opens into large intestine. Which further consists of colon, rectum and caecum.

Colon consists of ascending colon, descending colon and transverse colon. And descending colon opens into rectum and rectum into anus.
