a) For sedimentation tank it allows solids to settle . (b) For loading tank is to sediment the suspended impurities . (c) For chlorination tank is to kill bacteria . THE DENSE PARTICLES PRESENT IN THE WATER IS ALLOWED TO SETTLE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEDIMENTATION TANK AND THEY ARE LATER SEPARATED.
