Chloroplasts are the site of photosynthesis process in eukaryotic cells. They are only present in plant cells and algae.
- Parts of chloroplast :
- Outer Membrane -The outer membrane is not permeable to larger proteins.
- Intermembrane space - Inner membrane space is present between outer and the inner membrane of the chloroplast.
- Inner Membrane -The border of stoma is made up of the folding of inner membrane .
- Stroma- The space outside the thylakoid space is called the stroma.
- Thylakoid System -The thylakoid system is a collection of membranous sacks called thylakoids.
