Lets take a man covering certain path for a particular time. For each interval his rate of displacement might be uniform or non uniform. To get the idea at what rate the person undergoes displacement as a whole is decided by the displacement time graph.
A graph is plotted between the displacement of a body and the time taken by the body to cover such displacement is what we call displacement time graph. Here we take time on x-axis and displacement on y-axis.
For a stationary body, the displacement time graph is a straight line parallel to the time axis.The slope of the line is zero that indicates the velocity of the body is zero.
