when the light coming from a star enters the earth's atmosphere it undergoes refraction due to the wearing optical density of air at various altitude the atmosphere is continuously changing the continuously changing atmosphere reflects the light from the star by different amount from one women to the neck when the atmosphere reflects more start light towards other stars appear to write and when the atmosphere reflects less starlight then the star appear to be done in this way the star light reaching our eyes increase and decrease continuously due to atmospheric refraction and the stars appear to Twinkle at night .
