Three measures by Sri Lanka after passing of 1956 Act.

Explanation:

  • According to this Act, Sinhala considers being the official language in the country. It passed in the Parliament of Ceylon in 1956. The act succeeded in replacing English by the Sinhala language as the official language.
  • Buddhism declared as the official religion with receiving protection from the state.
  • All the government jobs reserved for Sinhala people. In Sri Lanka, before the passing Act of 1956, Tamils were acquiring work in government, universities, railways, etc.
