The oxidation of glucose gives a series of complex biochemical reactions to provide the energy, which is used by the cells. The first step in this process is glycolysis, which produce pyruvate, known as the starting point for all the processes in the cellular respiration. In aerobic respiration, these processes have been displayed in the TCA. The major use of the energy from glucose oxidation is the conversion of ADP to ATP, where the ATP is used as the energy currency of the cell.
