Toothpaste is used for cleaning teeth because toothpaste is a Base and inside in our mouth acids are present when we eat something then acid is formed in our mouth and by using the toothpaste we can nutrilize the acidity because when Base reacts with acid it forms water and hydrogen gas, OK

Hope that it will help you.

Answer:

Toothpaste is used to promote oral hygiene: it is an abrasive that aids in removing dental plaque and food from the teeth, assists in suppressing halitosis, and delivers active ingredients (most commonly fluoride) to help prevent tooth decay (dental caries) and gum disease (gingivitis).
