In case of ficus hypanthodium inflorescence is found. The flowers has both the essential parts (male and female) and also have gall or neutar flowers. It is pollinated by blastophaga. When it enters into the flower it lay its eggs in the gall flowers which provide nourishment to them. At the same time the flowers have some hairs at its apex and when the wasp enters into it, it gets trapped. After some time the hairs get loosed and they wither and the new wasps loaded with pollens coming out of the hypanthodium having mature male flowers, drops the pollen inside another hypanthodium having mature female flowers and this ensures pollination and this mechanism is called trap door mechanism. Since both the fig and the wasp os benefitted so it is an example of mutualism.
