Dendritic pattern develops where the river channel follows the slope of terrain. The stream resembles the branches of a tree. A river joined by tributaries at approximately right angles develops trellis pattern. It's formed where hard and soft rocks exist parallel to each other. A rectangular drainage pattern develops on strongly jointed rocky terrain. Radial is when streams flow in different directions from a central dome like structure.
