MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:- trees shed their leaves for 6-8 weeks during the hot and dry season so as to conserve water.
These forests are less dense than the evergreen forests. trees are shorter and more widely spaced.
trees found here are commercially valuable hardwood trees such as teak, sal, sandalwood, bamboo, neem, sheesham and peepal.
