explain twinkling of a star also explain why a planet does not twinkle

Stars twinkle because the light from stars are continuously refracted due to the movement of cold and warm air in the atmosphere.
planets don't twinkle like stars because stars are very far away and the light coming from stars is coming from a single point ,so it is easily diffracted,unlike planet's.
