Explain types of self-awareness
Answers
Explanation:
Public Self-Awareness
This type emerges when people are aware of how they appear to others. Public self-awareness often emerges in situations when people are at the center of attention, such as when giving a presentation or talking to a group of friends.
This type of self-awareness often compels people to adhere to social norms. When we are aware that we are being watched and evaluated, we often try to behave in socially acceptable and desirable ways.
Private Self-Awareness
This type happens when people become aware of some aspects of themselves, but only in a private way. For example, seeing your face in the mirror is a type of private self-awareness.
Self-awareness of your strengths
You can only lead in ways that God has designed you to lead. You were knit together in your mother’s womb (Psa. 139:13). God gave you strengths so that you could use them for His glory.
Take time to discover your strengths. Discover your strengths by paying attention to the work that you do.
Where do you feel energized?
Where do others comment on how good your work is?
What types of projects are you naturally drawn toward?
Assessments also increase knowledge of your strengths. Some of my favorite assessments include StrengthsFinder and StandOut.
I recently discovered the Identity Profile Self Assessment Tool (IPSAT). Steve Moore, a significant mentor in my own life, designed this tool. The IPSAT guides you to understand how your personality, strengths, passions, spiritual gifts, and skills work together – and how you can leverage them.
When you sign up for the IPSAT, tell them you found out about it on garlandvance.com to receive a 10% discount on a coaching session.
Self-awareness of your weaknesses
Where you are not gifted is just as important as where you are gifted. Discovering your weaknesses helps you know what types of projects to avoid. It guides you in selecting teammates.
Hope it helps!!!! :)
