Hello Friend
Sickle cell anaemia is an autosomal recessive disease which shows it's transmission from parents to offsprings. It is generally controlled by a single pair of allele Hb.Out of three possible genotypes only Hbs Hbs are affected. But Hbs Hba act as carriers of disease as there is 50 percent probability of mutant gene to the next progeny.
It occurs due to substitution of glutamic by valine

☆ Hey! ☆
Sickle cell anemia is a blood disease inherited from the father or mother. Normal red blood cells are very flexible and circular in shape, similar to a thread. Its flexibility and shape allow it to move freely through small blood vessels called capillaries. In people with sickle cell anemia, these cells take the form of a crescent or a scythe and also lose flexibility. Abnormal cells attach to the capillaries, blocking the flow of blood to vital organs.
People with sickle cell anemia may have symptoms such as skin and yellow eyes, pallor, growth retardation, bone and joint pain, increased risk of infection, development of leg ulcers, ocular lesions, anemia, and injury to organs affected by obstruction .
