German unification was a long and complicated process.At the beginning of the 19th C,Germany wasn't a unified country.IT was a collection of 39 states,where the only wealthy and powerful ruled.IT was difficult to unite Germany.Bismarck was the chief architect of German unification.He fought 3 wars to unify Germany:

Danish-Prussian war: Then 1864 Danish war helped Bismarck strengthen his internal position in Prussia.Danish king FredriechVII died in 1864.Many of the European royals were independent having unified territories.Without much efforts,Prussian defeated Danish.The Danish war was the first step in German unification.This war took place on 1864.
