Co2 reacts in a fire extinguisher so that this reaction combines and form a oxide to extinguish fire..

As we know that carbon dioxide is a suitable substance to put fire out,it is used in fire extinguishers.

Now

In soda acid fire extinguisher,the container is full of baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) and it is reacted with conc. sulphuric acid which is contained in the bottle above soda. When the reaction takes place, enormous amount of carbon dioxide is thrown out with a great force. This helps putting down the fire.
