VAN MAHOTSAV

- Tree planting moment began in 1950.

The movement was the brainchild of Dr K M Munshi, who had been the Union Minister for Agriculture and Food at the time.

The main aim of van mohatsav was to increase food production all over the country, to create awareness among people about conserving plants and forest.

Vana mahotsav is celebrated on July month of every year, The importance of growing and saving forests and create awareness about the affects of deforestation. Its an annual tree planting festival in the month of July. Van mahotsav means festival of planting trees.....
