The many causes of the French revolution include
1. Economic- Due to rising in population, the demand for bread increased but the production couldn't keep pace. The prices increased and a large amount of the third estate couldn't afford basic needs. Subsistence crisis occurred.
2. Political-Louis XVI led an extravagant lifestyle even though the country was on the debt of over a billion livres. They also charged taxes only from the third estate which made this furious
3. Intellectual cause- The ideas of liberty, integrity, equality etc were spread by budding writers like Rousseau, Montesquieu, Mirabeau and Abbe Sieyes.
