Explanation:

Only one line of latitude, the equator, is a great circle. (Note: a great circle is a line that theoretically bisects the earth.) LONGITUDE Lines of longitude run north-south, but provide east-west locational reference. Lines of longitude are called "meridians." No two meridians are parallel to each other.
