Hello Friend !
A volcano is a mountain with a hole where lava (hot, liquid rock) comes from a magma chamber under the ground. Most volcanoes have a volcanic crater at the top. When a volcano is active, materials come out of it. The materials include lava, steam, gaseous sulfur compounds, ash and broken rock pieces.
There are three kinds of volcanoes according to the frequency of their eruption. Active volcanoes are those with an active history of eruptions throughout recorded and recent history. Dormant volcanoes are those that have not recorded eruptions over a prolonged period of time but still exhibit signs of volcanic activity. Extinct volcanoes are those that have not erupted over a historical time frame.
Hope this helps !!
