Majority of Greenland is covered with ice which makes it not suitable to grow crops. The people in there depends on fishing and hunting as a source of food. The climate there is not at all suitable for vegetation. Only grass etc. grow there.

Greenland is the largest island in the world. It lies in the north pole. Due to this the effect of sun is very less & the place remains covered with permanent ice & snow which does not allow the growth of vegetation or any plants in this area. During summer plants like moss, lichen, etc., grows.
In short Greenland's climate does not favor growth of any sort of natural vegetation.
