Explain viscosity. thermal conductivity and diffusion of gases.
Answers
In the applications of hypersonic flow, the transport properties of gases or gas mixture are needed for both theory and experiment. Until now there is no published data about the transport properties of dilute gases at high temperatures. The present course of study presents data for some dilute gases at different percentages. The calculations of the transport properties of the mixtures are based on Chapman-Enskog expansion. The viscosity and the thermal conductivity of different percentages of hydrogen in argon have been calculated. The presented data are in a form of curves or tables. The presented results are plotted against temperatures which range between 4000 K and 10000 K.
