The Larynx or Voicebox comes after the Pharynx. It is common to both, the windpipe and the food pipe. But, it has a purpose other than acting as a passage; it serves as a medium to change the air pressure in the production of sound. Sound has a third part, vibration which is produced through Larynx. In males, the voice box is often big as compared to females and is called Adam's Apple. When we wake up, we find our voices too dense; this is because our vocal cords get stuck to each other for a long time. After some time, we start sounding like usual; because after some exercise, they come to their original position.
