Volatile and nonvolatile memory:

Volatile memory:

Volatile memory is computer storage that merely sustains its data while the device is run. Many RAM (random access memory) used for primary storage in PCs is volatile memory.

Nonvolatile memory:

Non-volatile memory (NVM) is a kind of computer memory that has the ability to maintain saved data even if the power is turned off.
